Who I am
When I first started my Masters Degree Program I found the following and remind myself and my clients of this... "I am here to listen, Not to work miracles, To help you discover what you feel, Not to make the feelings go away, To discuss steps with you, Not to rescue you and leave you still vulnerable, To help you learn to choose, Not to make it unnecessary for you to make difficult choices, To provide support for change." I am here to walk with you and provide guidance, empathy and encouragement along your journey.
My family and friends are my life blood, I live with my fiance, 12 year old son, 13 year old Cat, 8 year old dog and 4 year old Bearded Dragon, I also have twin 24 year old step sons, so things are always crazy in my life.
Over the years I have worked for the YMCA as a Program Director (Teens, Family, Aquatics and Camp), taught for Mad Science (afterschool programs), and taught for the American Red Cross (CPR, EAD, First Aid and Life Guarding). I have also been a Baseball Mom, Board Member and Score Keeper!
I bring those experiences and my own relationships to sessions as a way to connect and assist you to see that just because I am a therapist I don’t have it all together, life is an adventure and we never know when things will take us in a totally different direction or dreams will come true.
In the sports world I am tried and true Cleveland Guardians (Indians), Pittsburgh Steelers, Penn State and Alabama fan. So hopefully that will not stop you from coming to see me!
